Your New Neighborhood Bike Shop
I never expected my love for bikes to take me this far. It started with welding school, then a fulfilling job at Livermore Cyclery. After it closed, I built AJ’s Bike Service from the ground up – facing challenges head-on to bring quality repairs to the community. In April 2024, that journey led to AJ’s Family Cyclery, where I now get to sell and fix bikes!
This business was born of resilience.
I’d endured a difficult beginning due to an abusive living situation and the shelter-in-place order, but found an overwhelming need for my services. After an unfair city crackdown, the community rallied behind me. I won against code restrictions, allowing my business to flourish!
Unfortunately, as momentum picked up, my mental health suffered due to my living situation. My business had given me an escape, but I realized I needed to prioritize my safety. With renewed strength, I rebuilt my life, and my business came back even stronger.
In early 2022, I moved AJ’s Bike Service to a dedicated location. The city, the community, and the Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening and the history I’d made for small businesses in Livermore.
The Dream Becomes Reality
This journey has been long and tough, but with amazing support, I’m excited for the future! I’m committed to giving back, offering affordable repairs and donating bikes to those in need. In April 2024, I took AJ’s Bike Service a step further and opened AJ’s Family Cyclery. Now, I get to help people find their perfect bikes and keep them riding smoothly!
